List Building Guide for List Building Outsourcing

List Building Guide: How To Outsource Your List Building
Whenever you want to launch a direct marketing campaign, everything starts with List Building – building a list of “leads” – potential contacts to whom you will deliver your marketing message(s). In this List Building Guide, we will discuss ways to profitably outsource this list building process.

Whether you’re telemarketing, email marketing, contact form marketing, or social media marketing … you’ll need some type of information on who you’re going to contact. This list, or database of information, is your Lead List. The process of creating your Lead List is called “List Building“, and it comes in all shapes & sizes.

No matter what, List Building is essential to launching any successful outbound marketing campaign. You need someone to contact, and if you don’t build the right list for your offer, your marketing efforts are going to fall flat.

I’ve already written a 1200 word post on Building Better Lead Lists (w/ Action Items) … so today I am going to skip over these principles & action items – assuming that you’re already aware of them. With that pre-requisite aside, I will be able to focus this List Building Guide on how to do what most marketers & ad agencies do: OUTSOURCE your LIST BUILDING entirely!

How To Outsource: Choosing The Right Outsourcing Tasks

How To Outsource: Choosing The Right Outsourcing Tasks
One of the most difficult & confusing aspects of business process outsourcing (BPO) is choosing the right tasks to outsource in the first place.

Not every process in your business is ripe for outsourcing, but if you can find the right tasks & delegate them to an offshore team, you can instantly boost profit margins (sometimes significantly) through savings on HR overhead. Unfortunately, if you choose the wrong tasks, you won’t achieve your objectives, and you can find yourself paying out of pocket (sometimes significantly) for little to no desirable results.

Even if you’re an expert on how to outsource (and what providers, portals, and services you can use to do so) … you might not be an expert on choosing exactly what to outsource.

Which begs the question:

How exactly does one choose the right outsourcing tasks?

Well, to answer that, you’ll need to organize your potential tasks lists based on your GOALS & OBJECTIVES…

Building Better Lead Lists (w/ Action Items)

Building Better Lead Lists
When it comes to running any type of outbound sales & marketing campaign, everything starts with data.

You have to have some idea of who you’re going to contact, and the necessary contact information to contact them (phone number, email, mailing address, social media, etc). The most effective campaigns often combine multiple channels of communication, meaning the more info you have on your targets, the better your chances of converting them into a paying client.

Whether you’re planning to call everyone in the phone book, or to send unique emails to 27 key decision makers at your most prized target organizations … everything in your direct sales & marketing campaign rides on the strength (or weakness) of your “lead list.”

For purposes of this discussion, the lead list” can be defined as: ALL the data you have on your targeted contacts; their organization(s), contact information, descriptions, notes, etc.

A lead list can be as simple as names & numbers, and as complex as dossiers with background & credit checks.

No matter how you slice it, if you are relying on this data to earn a profit, building your lead list will make or break your outbound marketing campaign. That’s why it’s important to approach this process with a strategic vision guided by these 4 Principles…

Outsourcing For Small Business Owners

How To Start Outsourcing For Small Business Owners?

One of the most difficult, but most attractive prospects for outsourcing are those of the small business owner. If you, or someone you know, owns a business with less than 50 employees … particularly those with way fewer … this article is for you (or that person you know).

The biggest factor in outsourcing (or even just hiring a Virtual Assistant or VA) as a small business owner is – as with most things – the price tag. In the traditional outsourcing world, minimum entry prices were way out of reach of small businesses. In today’s technologically connected world, it is now possible to hire someone for a Fiverr to do all sorts of tasks that you never even knew you needed.

The Freelancer / Virtual Assistant Revolution

More importantly for the small business owner today, you can go to sites like Elance, oDesk, Guru.com, and Freelancer.com … where you can post a job ad right now (for free) and get bids within hours from “qualified” freelancers hailing from all over the globe. The problem is, in that last sentence, notice how I put “qualified” in quotes? Yes, that is a problem.

See, the greatest thing about Freelancer sites is that you can get decent (and sometimes exceptional) workers for a usually below-market rate (sometimes significantly below it). The best way to use these workers, generally, is on an ad hoc, per-project / per-task basis. Expecting much to come from long-term relationships or comprehensive business process outsourcing in the Freelancer market-place can be difficult. Because, here’s the thing:
